GRK2274 is fully integrated into LMU's and TUM's central networks to promote gender equality, family support, and diversity. At LMU, there is the central contact point for gender equality and inclusion (www.lmu.de/diversity), and TUM has established several services under TUM.Diversity (www.diversity.tum.de), like the TUM Gender & Diversity Board and TUM.Family – Family, Kids & Elder Care Center. Some of the provided services are:
- Support in career planning and the professional and personal development, including individual and group coaching as well as specialized mentoring programmes (LMUMentoring and TUM MentorING)
- Counseling to help solving conflicts in studies and career
- Counseling and support regarding child care. Child care facilities exist at LMU and TUM locations
- Counseling regarding elder care
- Courses and networking opportunities specifically for female scientists
In addition to these central structures, specific measures of GRK2274 are:
- Gender-neutral recruiting process of Ph.D. and M.D. doctoral candidates
- Financial support for emergency child care on short notice
- Travel grants for female researchers to visit national and international conferences, supporting child care during conferences
- Invitation of high-profile female researchers as guest speaker at a seminar, retreat or workshop with the opportunity to discuss female career Topics
- Allow flexible work schedules and give assistance to GRK members being pregnant, taking care of young children or providing care for elderly people
